About Wisconsin Youth Company

Our mission statement: Wisconsin Youth Company exists so that the children of Wisconsin benefit from communities that nurture them at a sustainable cost.

Wisconsin Youth Company (WYC) is a non-profit organization providing care, recreation and enrichment programs to children and youth. WYC has five programs:

  • AFTER SCHOOL, before and after school care, summer day camp, world languages and immersion camps.
  • Wander Wisconsin which offers year round adventure travel and camp experiences.
  • Middle School U, summer courses for middle school youth.
  • Celebrating Youth!, an annual youth performance event.
  • Wisconsin Youth & Family Center, a neighborhood center serving the Greater Elver Park neighborhood.

The organization's administrative office is on the southwest side of Madison, WI. It also has a regional office in Waukesha, WI and an in-house print shop on Madison's east side. Its largest program, AFTER SCHOOL, serves about 1500 children during the school year and about 800 in summer day camp.

The organization began in 1974 as the After School Day Care Association. It has an annual budget of about $4.6 million and employs about 200 full and part time staff.
