Annual Spring Fairs Set
AFTER SCHOOL's annual spring fairs will be March 15 for the Waukesha Region and April 26 for the Dane Region. The Waukesha Fair will be at the Waukesha Expo Center and the Dane Fair will be at the Alliant Energy Center. Both fairs will feature displays of arts and crafts projects by AFTER SCHOOL children and music, dance and dramatic performances by the children. The Waukesha fair will have a family fun zone with activities for all ages and the Dane fair will have an international flavor with displays by World Language students. A light supper will be served. All AFTER SCHOOL families are welcome.
Celebrating Youth!
Celebrating Youth!, Wisconsin Youth Company's annual family event showcasing the talents of young people, is changing its format and location. We will be partnering with Brava Magazine, the producers of Madison Kids Expo, to showcase youth talent at their event. Kid's Expo will be March 17 & 18, 2012, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Alliant Energy Center. Hundreds of youth will showcase their vocal, instrumental, dance, dramatic and other talents on the Wisconsin Youth Company Celebrating Youth! stage at Kid's Expo.
The challenging economic climate has meant that there is less funding for events like Celebrating Youth!. Wisconsin Youth Company is grateful to have been able to facilitate the growth of thousands of young people who have performed and attended the event since it began in 1999. Wisconsin Youth Company would like to thank all those who participated whether performing, coaching, exhibiting, hosting an activity area, creating artwork, volunteering or coming to enjoy the activities and show support for the young performers.
Madison Kid's Expo features over 100 exhibitors with information about products and services related to children and families. It also has entertainment and hands on activities for kids including a petting zoo, face painting and the Town of Madison fire truck. Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for children. Children under two are free.
