Meet Our Staff
![]() | Kirsten Wineke is the director of the Wisconsin Youth & Family Center. She began working for the center in February of 2011. Kirsten worked for the Boys and Girls Club of America since 1998. She was arts director in Cedar Rapids, and in Madison supervised staff delivery of services to elementary and middle school students. A Madison native, she graduated from Middleton High School. In her teenage years, Kirsten lived in southwest Madison, the same area many of the WYFC youth call home. She has a degree in Human Services from Madison Area Technical College. |
![]() | Tai Words-Jones is the assistant director for the Wisconsin Youth & Family Center. She began her position in March, 2011. She began and has led the Girls Inc program at WYFC for the past six years. Tai has a bachelor's degree in dance from the University of Wisconsin. She has her own business teaching liturgical dance at area churches. |
![]() | Tony Travis, youth development specialist, began working for Wisconsin Youth & Family Center in May, 2008. He has spent much of his adult life working with and mentoring youth. He is a Hip Hop artist and co-owns H.U.G.E. Family Entertainment which manages and records and promotes local Hip Hop performers. Tony enjoys football, Hip-Hop, writing, organized team sports and cooking. |
![]() | Jake Wilson began working at Wisconsin Youth & Family Center in fall 2010. He is the center's PASS (Partners for After School Success) AmeriCorps staff. His experience working with youth includes coaching youth soccer and being a Big Brother Big Sister volunteer. Jake has two semesters remaining at Carroll University in Waukesha. He began as an art major and switched to journalism. His work with youth at the center has sparked an interest in teaching. In addition to leading recreational activities he helps youth with their homework. He tutors several youth at Toki Middle School two days a week. |
