Pop-Up Event Celebrates Local Black-Owned Businesses
More than 25 businesses to display products for Black History Month

Madison, Wisconsin (Thursday, January 26, 2022) — Elver Park and Theresa Terrace Neighborhood Centers are hosting their first pop-up shop in February to recognize local Black-owned businesses in honor of Black History Month. Minding My Black-Owned Business pop-up shop is held Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Elver Park Neighborhood Center, on Madison’s southwest side. All vendors are provided with a 6-ft. table, two chairs, and a catered lunch, all at no cost.

“We are excited to offer a space and time for Madison-area entrepreneurs to showcase their driven talents. This event is about honoring the skill, passion, and hard-work of each vendor and the local market of their goods and services. Please stop by the event to support them,” says Jennifer Weber, director of neighborhood centers, Wisconsin Youth Company, which operates both centers.

Gift cards will be raffled off every 30 minutes to customers during the event.

The centers are still accepting registrations for vendors to participate in the event. Please contact Takela Harper at tharper@wisconsinyouthcompany.org for more information.
