Spreading Holiday Joy to Madison Families
6th Annual Toy Drive Supports Southwest Madison

Madison, Wisconsin (Tuesday, November 26, 2024) — Elver Park and Theresa Terrace Neighborhood Centers, operated by Wisconsin Youth Company, host their 6th Annual Holiday Toy Drive to help spread joy this holiday season. Many of the families who participate in neighborhood center programs live at or below the poverty line. These families can still celebrate the holidays with toys, games, and gifts with this community support.

“Our holiday toy drive is a great way for the surrounding community to come together to directly and positively impact children’s lives. Each gift will make a difference for children and caregivers in our neighborhood center communities,” says Jennifer Weber, director of neighborhood centers, Wisconsin Youth Company.

Families rely on the generosity of individuals, businesses, and organizations to donate new, unwrapped toys that will be distributed to children who might not otherwise receive gifts during the holidays. Donations are accepted at donation sites through December 8, and purchased from our Wish List through December 15.

To support this toy drive, community members can:

  • Check out our Amazon Wish List to purchase gifts and ship them directly to the neighborhood center or use this list as inspiration.
  • Purchase gift cards for restaurants and stores near Elver Park Neighborhood Center (Madison’s southwest side). Gift cards make great gifts and are especially appreciated by our teen program participants.
  • Make a monetary donation. You can fill the gap in donated gifts and the need through a donation.

In mid-December, the neighborhood centers will host a free event offering parents and caregivers the chance to “shop” the donated items. This allows families to choose gifts tailored to the interest of their children.
