Additionally, Ms. Allison attended WYC After School at Leopold Elementary when she was a child!

Q1: What has been your favorite memory of working at Wisconsin Youth Company so far?
My favorite memory so far has to be the day we made Rube Goldberg machines! It was really fun to work as a team and watch the kids solve problems and be creative.

Q2: What is the most important thing you learned as a child that still applies today?
I learned not to take myself too seriously and still find that living life is a lot more fun when you embrace some of the silliness.

Q3: Who was a mentor you looked up to when you were younger? Why did you look up to them?
I had a dance teacher in middle school who was the kindest person I have ever met. She was always encouraging, generous, and patient with everybody she met. I really looked up to her then and still think of her as a role model now.

Q4: What is your favorite part about working with kids?
I really enjoy the questions kids ask! Some of them are serious and some are silly but I really enjoy seeing a kid’s perspective on things and helping them understand the world a little better.
