Ms. Tianna started working at Elver Park Neighborhood Center as group leader in Fall 2021. Ms. Tianna brings a calmness to program and all children feel welcome at EPNC because of her. She is always engaged with the children in program, and planning activities based on their own ideas. Ms. Tianna is going to Madison College in the fall for a degree in early childhood education. We are excited to have her continue as group leader with the elementary program at EPNC.

Q1: What has been your favorite memory so far?

One of my favorite memories is dancing along to Just Dance videos on YouTube with the kids.

Q2: What is the most important thing you learned as a child that still applies today?

Something important I learned as a child is the importance of having some chill time to myself. I needed it when I was a child and especially now because it’s something that is very much needed.

Q3: Who was a mentor you looked up to when you were younger? Why did you look up to them?

My older brother was a mentor I looked up to when I was younger. I learned a lot from him by watching him and he also gave a lot of good advice.

Q4: What is your favorite part about working with kids?

I love working with kids because it brings me joy and it reminds me of my childhood. It’s refreshing to be around kids because they are so free and full of energy. It inspires me to loosen up and have fun.

Q5: Why did you decide to go to Madison College and its early education program?

I really enjoyed working at a summer camp with kids when I was a teenager. It is one of my favorite memories. I decided to go to the early childhood education program at MATC because I want to work with kids and explore the different fields to offer in early childhood education.

Say “hi” to Ms. Tianna next time you see her!
