We are so excited to welcome children and families back to our camps this summer. Our team has been working hard to plan for a fun summer while ensuring everyone’s safety. We all know and expect that summer camp will look different this year. We will miss our trips to local pools and other area attractions. However, that is not the only thing that makes camp great. The connections between staff, children, and families are what make the camp experience so memorable. Those relationships will remain as the social experience of camp is more important than ever.
To enhance the overall camp experience, we have been working to plan new activities and modify some favorite camp games. Two activities we are especially excited to do at camp: campers will make their own sidewalk chalk designs which will create a giant display on the blacktop; and using metal washers to make wind chimes to hang outside camp and at home.
We are planning for the majority of the activities to take place outside to allow for social distancing and safety. Campers will learn new skills and build self-confidence as they navigate the social environment they have been missing.
We look forward to welcoming your families back this summer.
