Hello Chavez families!

What a month February has been: Ms. Priscilla had her last day in program; our younger groups started working on some goals and earned great prizes; we played in the gym again (YAY!) and we welcomed a new staff member to Chavez.

Our new staff member is Mr. Chris. Mr. Chris is a former teacher, and Ms. Izzy’s dad. We are happy to welcome Mr. Chris to the program, and we know he is excited to be here. Mr. Chris will primarily be working with our kindergarteners and 1st graders. Make sure to say hi when you see him.

We are looking forward to a lot of things in March. First off, Ms. Izzy’s has a birthday on March 22. We will be celebrating her with amazing activities on that day. Furthermore, we have one of our favorite yearly activities: Making leprechaun traps. This has been a favorite of Ms. Izzy’s since her first year at Chavez, and we know that your children will come up with incredible traps to finally catch those leprechauns this year. Finally, we have spring break March 25-29. We hope you take that week to relax and enjoy time with your children before they return to program — ready for that final stretch to finish out the school year.

Lastly, Mr. Jack is unfortunately leaving After School. Mr. Jack has been the site supervisor at Chavez for the past three years, but another opportunity has come up for him that he is excited about. He is grateful for all the fantastic memories he’s made with your children. His last day in program is March 8; please wish him well before he leaves.

Thank you all for reading this and I hope you have a great day.

-Mr. Jack, Ms. Izzy, Mr. Chris
