Wellness Check

We ask that families self-monitor and conduct their own wellness checks prior to school each day. If your child(ren) are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 during program hours, our trained staff will conduct a wellness check and request for immediate pick-up.

Face Coverings

In accordance with MMSD policy, face coverings are optional during After School. Face coverings will be available to those who need or choose to wear one.

What to Bring
  • Extra set of clothing, as needed

Please confirm the most current cell phone numbers are listed in your Parent Portal. That will serve as our means of identifying Parents. Staff will have children clean up, gather belongings, sanitize hands, and exit the program space. We strongly encourage Parents to meet their child(ren) outside the door.
  • If your child(ren) has not exited the school five minutes after your text, please call the program phone
  • If a different pre-authorized pick-up person is planning to pick-up from After School, please notify our administrative office or the site directly

  • There will be time for daily outdoor recreation (weather permitted) where children will participate in group games and explore the playground
  • Children are also provided the opportunity to complete homework

We are anticipating a wonderful program year at After School Crestwood and look forward to serving your family.

Aloha Crestwood families!

Another month has flown by and we’re definitely still adjusting to the cold temperatures at After School. Students have come prepared to combat cold weather with appropriate winter gear (yay!) During transitions, it has been important for us to make them easier and fun. We do that by playing various games such as: Would You Rather?, Quick Draw, 20 Questions, Statues, and Simon Says. These are some of the popular ones we play and our children love to lead the fun!

We’ve continued to establish community within our program by hosting our community gathering at After School every Monday. During our community gathering, the children from both groups meet and then form a circle before we start to share stories or play games. Some common things we’ve discussed are: weekend plans, program safety, upcoming projects, jokes/riddles, etc. This is a great way to learn and better understand the individual interests of our children. It’s also a safe space that provides the children an opportunity to ask questions, share opinions, and to be heard.

We are excited to learn more about our students and use that information to plan projects, storytelling, and games around those interests and needs.

Kind Regards,

Adam
