- During rest time, the lights will be turned off and quiet music will be played. Children that do not choose to sleep may be given permission to play with small manipulatives near their mat.

Happy May!
April was another wonderful month. We explored volcano explosions, created art projects, and used teamwork to build a class village out of building materials when we learned about community helpers. And we enjoyed a pizza picnic party!
May is here and that means the end of the year is almost here! I am so proud of all the learning the kids have done so far. All year we have been working on the months of the year, days of the week, what is today, yesterday, and tomorrow, and the seasons. It is so cool to see how their confidence has grown in answering questions during circle time and knowing those concepts better each day.
Time is really flying by; we are finishing up learning our letters of the week with only letter Z left! We will continue to weave letters and numbers into our learning, but we also will explore more sensory, friendship, and big emotion themes.
Hope you have a fantastic month.
Please reach out with any questions!
Ms. Lorna
Dear families of 4K P.M. Wrap,
Despite the ups and downs in the weather, we continue to enjoy all the fun things to love about this time of year. We studied the weather and the different types of clouds, and made window gardens using sunflower and pumpkin seeds. Hopefully they will grow and the kids can bring them home to plant and enjoy over the summer break.
We continue our letter of the week focus, using crafts and songs and science to lock in our letter learning. As our letter of the week comes near to the end, so does our time together as 4Ker’s. When I look back on the pictures of your kids from the beginning of the school year, it is amazing to see all their growth — not just physically but emotionally and have blossomed into kindergarten-ready!
Over the next month we will watch caterpillars grow from tiny wiggly caterpillars into beautiful painted lady butterflies ready to be released and pollinate our world. Much like your amazing children ready to rock kindergarten! We plan to release the butterflies as one of our final activities as the school year comes to an end. It has been a wonderful year and I am honored to have had a role in their learning this year.
Ms. Van Mullem
Hello families,
We cannot believe there is only a month of school left. It feels like this year has flown by. We are all hoping for warmer weather so we can use the pavilion at snack time. With warmer weather hopefully coming, we will start doing fun scavenger hunts and activities on the nature trail.
Since the weather has been slightly cold and rainy on some days, the kids were able to get some gym time in and also had extra time to work on their projects. The children have really enjoyed making the infinity cubes and adding pictures of their favorite things on them. Make sure to ask your children to show you theirs.
As the year is coming to an end, we are going to work on easier crafts and activities. This way the children will be able to finish all of their projects by the end of the year. We don’t want the children leaving the school year with unfinished projects.
We want to thank all families who were able to take time out of their busy schedules to join us at the After School Family Gathering. All the children had a great time and were excited about all the different activities they could do. It was a huge success. We can’t wait to do it again next year. The kids are already coming up with ideas.
We hope this school year was just as much fun for the children as it was for the staff. We can’t wait to do it all again next year.
Stephanie
