Lunch

Hot lunch is available through the school. Please work with Cushing to set up this option.

If not receiving hot lunch, Parents must send a sack lunch that must not require refrigeration or microwaving. Some children have life-threatening allergies (like a peanut or tree nut allergy). For this reason, Wisconsin Youth Company requests that children bring a nut-free lunch.

Rest Time

  • Each day, there will be a 30-minute rest time for children. Wisconsin Youth Company will provide a padded mat and sheet for your child to lay on.
  • Under DCF state licensing, children are required to have a blanket at nap time. Please send a blanket with your child. You may also send a small pillow or stuffed animal. All items will be kept in a tote at program.
  • During rest time, the lights will be turned off and quiet music will be played. Children that do not choose to sleep may be given permission to play with small manipulatives near their mat.
  • At the end of each week, children’s items and rest sheet will be sent home to be washed and returned to program. It is important that Parents send the items back with their child on the following Monday.

Hello!

We had a fun February learning the letters Q,R, and S, and celebrating Valentine’s Day.

We enjoyed our Valentine’s Day together and made strawberry and banana yogurt parfaits. They were delicious!

March looks to be exciting because we will learn about Spring Forward/the time change, St. Patrick’s Day, the first day of spring, and Easter. We will also have spring break the last week of the month. So much to learn, in such a short month!

I will continue to send pictures and messages about our fun days in wrap care. Keep an eye out for details on a A.M. 4K Wrap family event. I would love to meet you all in person!

Happy March!

Ms. Lisa

Hello 4K families!

February in review:

We went over the letters O, P, and Q. Some of their favorite projects were Olaf puffy paint, pink dough slime, and friendship quilts. We celebrated Valentine’s Day with bingo, trail mix, and playing a number/letter scavenger hunt. I added a couple of new classroom jobs: supply helper, janitor, and nap bin helper.

A look into March:

We will learn the letters R and S. We will start decorating for St. Patrick’s Day and spring. Keep an eye out for a family get-together. The theme is “Look how much I grew!” We will have a project you can do with your child, snacks, and refreshments in our classroom.

Feel free to email me with any questions you might have.

Ms. Ellyn

Hello families,

I am so happy to be back. I have missed the kids and forgot how much joy they are to be around. Since I have returned, we have been working on getting back into the routine from before I was out.

In February, the most-loved project the children worked on was homemade squishmallows. If you haven’t seen the project come home yet, that would be because the children are taking their time and putting a lot of work into it.

In March, we are going to work on homemade rain sticks and St. Patrick’s Day crafts. During group game time, we will spend time talking together about not competing to be a winner but rather having fun together.

Information will be coming out about our next family gathering. The children and staff are in the planning process of setting up the day and theme. This event will happen in mid to late April.

Thank you,
Mrs. Stephanie
