Hello!

In February, we learned about the letters N, O, and P. We also learned about Valentine’s Day and letting our friends and families know how much we love and appreciate them. We did a lot of fun activities such as noodle necklaces, snow angels, and pancakes. Yum!

In March, we will learn about letters Q and R, as well as learn about St. Patrick’s Day. We will wrap up the month with Spring Break. Hooray!

One thing I’m excited to announce is that I am planning a spring family gathering in April. I will send out invitations soon so watch your email!

A big thank you to all the parents for sending blankets for rest time each week, returning the home folders (so I can fill them up again), and sending water bottles daily. You are doing an awesome job! Happy spring!

-Ms. Lisa

Our class loved celebrating our accomplishment with a movie, pajamas, and popcorn day! Man, can those kids eat! It has been one of my favorite days in class thus far! The kids’ laughter during Emperor’s New Groove was so much fun to be a part of. We also enjoyed learning about our letters and celebrating Valentine’s Day with special parfaits and making our suncatcher crafts. The children have especially enjoyed exploring science this past month making different creations to see cause and effect reactions.

I can’t believe it is March already! This is a short month at school, with our last week being spring break. Our big focuses this month include music, spring themes, and letters Q, R, and S. We will also celebrate one of my favorite school holidays, St. Patrick’s Day! I’m excited for warmer weather to come and hopefully spend more time outside (fingers crossed).

Class Shoutouts:

  • Liam: He is a super helper in our classroom. He is always willing to clean up another friend’s mess, fix a problem, or assist me in our class! Thanks for all you do, Liam!
  • Hadley: Oh man do we love Hadley! Her bright personality lights up our room and her friends every day. Every day that Hadley is here, our room is filled with laughter and joy. We are so glad she is part of our class!
  • Mickey and Meliha: These two friends finished first in our rainbow reward! They went above and beyond last month being helpful, kind, and setting examples in our classroom! They both won special prizes for their hard work.

Get To Know Staff:

I absolutely love my job working with your children. Thank you for entrusting me with their safety and learning each week. My life is brighter because of them!

Thank you,
Ms. Abby

We are so close to the end of winter! During February, we enjoyed getting to see and play in decent snow! We also enjoyed decorating for Valentine’s Day and learning to look for certain sight words in books.

In March, we will learn about more letters, and we will continue looking for sight words while reading. We will learn about leprechauns for St. Patrick’s Day and making leprechaun traps around the room to hopefully catch one! There will be a spring family gathering coming up in April. More information on this will be coming soon!

As we are getting toward the end of the year, it has been amazing to reflect with each child about how much they have grown. They are starting to see and recognize their own growth, which has been extremely rewarding!

Thank you,
Ms. Holly

Happy March!

February flew by with fun activities and games we did before and after school. We made no-sew pillows, melty beads, and food projects! And we celebrated Valentine’s Day with a party.

We are excited for March because it’s one month closer to warmer weather. During March we will do planting projects and St. Patrick’s Day activities. As a class, we will be working toward a “company party” before spring break since the last one was a huge success. To earn the party, we will focus on responsibility through class jobs and taking care of the classroom. This is a great way for the class to work as a team to keep the room clean and organized for each program. We will vote on a special treat and enjoy a fun-filled morning and afternoon together. It’s something we’re all looking forward to!

March fun facts:

  • March is recognized as International Creativity month, and our group of kids excel at being creative
  • March was once considered the first month of the year

As always, feel free to reach out any time with questions or concerns, I do have a new email address as I am newly married! Any emails sent to slee@wisconsinyouthcompany.org will be forwarded to my new address but for your records, it is now sjohnson@wisconsinyouthcompany.org.
