Hello families,

Can you believe how quickly the school year is going? In November, the children learned about letters F and G. We also took a week to learn about Thanksgiving and what it means to be thankful. Some of our activities included finger painting, counting with goldfish crackers, and making turkey headbands. Our class earned a pizza lunch for being such great listeners!

In December, the fun will continue as we learn about letters H and I. We will also take time to learn about the upcoming holidays. There may even be a return of our Elf on the Shelf, Chippy?!

While many of us celebrate Christmas, please let me know if you have a special holiday tradition or celebration that we can learn more about. You can always send me an email or text message. We love learning new things!

Winter fun:

  • Would you rather have a blizzard with heavy snow or a light dusting of snow every day?
  • Would you rather build a snowman or build a blanket fort?
  • Would you rather have hot chocolate with whipped cream or hot chocolate with marshmallows?

Have a happy, healthy, and safe holiday season! See you in 2025!

Thank you,
Ms. Lisa

November was a great month in our 4K classroom. The kids were proud during the last week of November as they filled up a gumball machine from stickers they earned to have a special puppy day. We will celebrate this achievement in December. Over the course of the month, I saw the students bond closer together and develop even closer friendships. It is sweet to see them care for one another. Some of their favorite activities included making slime, Ms. Stacey’s storytime, thankful crafts, sink or float, and our classroom flower shop center.

This month, we will take a break from letters and enjoy all things Christmas. Our classroom is decorated, showing our class excitement for this season. In fact, I had some help decorating from a special visitor — our classroom elf! The students are excited to see him each day. He will join us to enjoy stories and activities with themes such as candy canes, elves, snowmen, gingerbread, and more.

Class Shoutouts:

  • Meliha is a hard worker! She stays on task and does it with a smile and good attitude.
  • Theo’s creativity and imagination shine as he builds awesome new creations in centers each day.
  • Camila is a friend to everyone. She includes everyone in her play and is always inviting others to play who are alone.
  • Danny is a leader in our class by exemplifying our classroom expectations each day.

Get To Know Staff:

One of my favorite parts of teaching 4K is how silly and goofy the children can be. I especially enjoyed the following quotes from this month in class:

  • “I don’t like this cheese, it tastes like dump truck.”
  • “Can you please push me super high on the swing? As high as a salami!” (Meaning tsunami)
  • “Why did the chicken cross the road? To get some new pants.”
  • Child: “Can you read my shirt?” Me: “Sure! It says grandpa knows everything.” Child: “Oh, that can’t be right. Only I know everything.”

Thank you! I hope you have a wonderful holiday!

Thank you,
Ms. Abby

Hello!

We have been doing amazing in 4K wrap! We have been continuing to learn about letters and Thanksgiving. We loved making Thanksgiving art for our door and bulletin board in the classroom. We also worked hard on writing our names and learning how to sound out the letters to spell on our own.

In the next few weeks, we will learn about winter and holidays. The children are so ready and excited to play out in the snow and hopefully do some experiments with it. We will also continue to work on letters and sounding out words. I am working on a holiday giving project for the kids that will help someone in the community. More on that will be coming shortly.

The children are nicely adjusted to the 4K Wrap schedule. They know what comes next in our day, without any reminders. On the last Thursday of 2024 — December 19 — we will have a movie/pajama day. Please feel free to allow your child to wear their pajamas and bring a stuffie if they wish! I will send out reminders as the day gets closer.

Thank you,
Ms. Holly

Hello families!

Happy December!

The holiday season has officially begun! Even though November was a short month, we had a great time. The children enjoyed writing letters and putting together care packages for Hartland Place Senior Living. They worked hard making bracelets, cards, and taking time to make sure their letters were kind and welcoming. We are hoping to have some pen pals in the future and are looking forward to the holiday cards they will send back to us. That was our biggest project in November, and now we’re ready to switch gears for the holiday season!

The month of December always feels exciting, bright, and warm (even though it’s freezing outside). We will have a small celebration in program to kick off winter break. We will enjoy hot chocolate, treats, and a few party games. This week we will also do a food drive for the local fire department; we know the holiday season is busy for first responders. We’d like to give back to them and thank them for their services during the holidays.

Christmas fun facts:

  • According to folklore, candy canes originated in Germany, where a choirmaster used them to keep children quiet during Christmas Eve services.
  • In the United States, 3 billion Christmas cards are sent each year.

We hope you all have a wonderful winter break, and happy holidays! As always, feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns, via email or site phone.

Thank you,
Ms. Samm
