Get to Know Staff:

Happy November! The days are getting shorter, the weather is getting cooler, and we “fall back” to standard time. It also means it is a great time to make your favorite chili, soups, and bread. Yum!

In my spare time, I love to try new recipes. I also bake all sorts of treats, which I then share with my friends and neighbors. I find cooking and baking relaxing.

October Recap:

In October, the class learned about letters D, E, and F, before we took a little break and did fun Halloween activities. The kids enjoyed playing with dinosaurs in Play-Doh, doing a STEM activity of making Eiffel Towers out of marshmallows and toothpicks, and having our family gathering. Thank you to all who were able to attend! Finally, Halloween is always a fun day and the costumes were great!

November Happenings:

This month is going to fly by! The kids will learn about letters I and J. Then we will take a week to learn about several winter holidays. If you have any fun holiday traditions in your family, feel free to let me know about them!

Maybe you do Elf on the Shelf, or bake holiday cookies while watching The Grinch? We continue to build our sense of community when we share family stories in class.

Family Engagement:

We only received a few family photos, but there is still time! If you have a family photo you’d like to share, I’d love to make a family tree in our classroom! You can just send the photo to school or send it to me and I’ll print them out.

Get to Know Staff:

Hello everyone! A little about myself: I have two beautiful daughters named Ivy (2) and Gracie (4 months) with my husband Tristan. I am happy to be back teaching and getting to know the children this year.

October Recap:

October was an incredible month. The children did so many fun projects and had a wonderful bonding time creating all the Halloween decorations for our family party. We also said goodbye to Ms. Lorna as the 4k teacher and welcomed myself back from maternity leave.

November Happenings:

This month, we will continue to learn our “letter of the week” while incorporating fun themes along with it. We will also explore more into the world of sensory and science play. We will have a Thanksgiving-themed week where the kids will get to have a lot of fun and make yummy food projects. I am also excited to continue building my relationships with your kids and keep the momentum going that Ms. Lorna started with this class.

Family Engagement:

Joke of the month: What did the pumpkin pie say to the other?
Answer: You want a piece of me?

Get to Know Staff:

Happy November! Time sure is flying by this year. The colder weather we’ve been having makes me want to cuddle up with a good book and a hot cup of coffee!

October Recap:

October was a great month for us! We introduced fun food Fridays, where each Friday we enjoy a food project that starts with the letter we are working on for that week. We also had a great time at our Halloween party! There were fun snacks, music, and different Halloween games and activities for the kids. We have also been getting outside a lot, and enjoy fun brain break videos in the classroom when it rains to get our bodies moving!

November Happenings:

In November, we will continue learning our letters of the alphabet. The last week of November before Thanksgiving break, we will learn about Thanksgiving traditions. The kids are especially looking forward to a friendsgiving celebration in class! Yummy food, games to learn more about our friends, and fun music.

Family Engagement:

I am still asking that parents send in a family picture, with pets if possible! We are working on making a family tree for our classroom. The picture can be sent to our site phone for me to print, or you can send in an already printed photo.

Get to Know Staff:

Happy November! I love this time of year, spending it with my husband, our families, and traveling to see everyone for the holidays. Thanksgiving has always been such a memorable time of year for me, kicking off the holiday season. I love the crisp weather, crunchy leaves, and of course tasty food!

October Recap:

October was a month full of spooky crafts, fun food Friday, and of course our amazing family gathering! Thank you to all who could come to the family gathering. We know how much children love showing off the room, recent projects, and introducing friends. Our favorite activity this month was our project of disguising ghosts. They were so creative when making their designs. It was awesome to see what they came up with!

Our class goose, Beyhonkce has been a wonderful addition to the room. We’ve seen so many kind acts, hard work, and sharing since introducing her. Everyone wants a chance to spend a week with her!

November Happenings:

November will be a great time to talk about family traditions, Thanksgiving recipes, and fall art projects. We will also add STEM projects into program, which has been highly requested by every child. We will continue our fun food Fridays, and child-led activities.

This month is also the end of Daylight Saving Time, so our activity schedule will change a bit for the next few months. We will spend time outside (weather permitting) right when the group is picked up from the primary school and serving snack a little later than normal. We will either have our rolling whiteboard with our location in the cafeteria, or our pink sign will be on our classroom door for a smoother pick up.

Family Engagement:

We’re still looking for family traditions to talk about in program, and recipes to share with the class! We will put together a class recipe book, just in time for the holidays and hopefully they can be introduced to your own family this year!
