Greetings After School families!

We’ve had a busy and fun couple of months at After School! The kids have been enjoying our ongoing Science Club on Tuesdays, with a variety of hands-on experiments, testing out new art projects such as oil pastels, and old favorites like Perler beads and watercolor painting. We made some sweet treats, including pie in a cup and make your own cake pops during Cooking Club, led by Ava! On sunny days we’ve been drawing with chalk and blowing bubbles, and on gloomy days, we stay indoors and play basketball, dodgeball, or watch the occasional movie or nature show. Also in April, we had our Spring Family Picnic. It’s so great having everyone come together for these Family Night celebrations, thank you all for coming!

In May, as we wind down the school year, we’ll soak up the springtime sun, continue with weekly Cooking with Ava, and look for ways to get creative! If your child has an idea for a project, I encourage them to let me know so we can plan it before the end of the school year, or get ideas for next fall!

Since this is the last newsletter of the school year, I want to give a special shout-out to the children in grade 5 as they move on to middle school next year: Sam, Samson, Eli, Britton, and Eva! Each of you are so talented, smart, kind, and have great senses of humor! It’s been so wonderful getting to know you, and we wish you all the best in your futures!

Get To Know Staff

Here’s what the staff has planned for the summer:

Kaite will visit family in Virginia in June, and return in July for fun in the sun at Summer Day Camp! Kaite loves swimming, visiting state parks, and outdoor music festivals!

Ayden will also be at Day Camp this summer and her favorite thing about summer is sitting around a bonfire!

What are you most looking forward to this summer?
