Happy December Before and After School families!

November was filled with so much excitement. I have grown so much closer to the children and have learned a lot about them. It has been such an honor to have the children open up to me and tell me more interesting things about themselves.

We continue to have fun and engaging projects and I’m always accepting ideas and suggestions from the children to include in our lesson plans. So far, our favorite project is making different types of slime. We also made unpoppable bubbles, glow-in-the-dark painting, key chain fidgets, and Thankful Turkeys.

The children have grown more comfortable with telling me the things they like or don’t like, which I appreciate. It makes me feel accomplished when some children are excited for projects and want to stay a little longer at pick up.

As stated previously, we have a group game with the children before and after school to get the children physically active and energetic. With more holidays coming up, the children will have fun daily projects and activities. As always, if you have any ideas about projects or group games that your child(ren) would be interested in, please don’t hesitate to mention them at pick-up or drop-off.

It’s officially the last month of 2022! The holidays come and go so fast. Christmas is around the corner and I would love to include Christmas-themed projects in our lesson plans. I am aware that not everyone celebrates Christmas. If you would like to share any other holidays that your family may celebrate around this time, I would love to hear from you and incorporate them into our lesson plans.

In addition, I will also include Winter Wonderland themed activities for the children to engage in. December means that winter is around the corner and it will continue to get cooler and possibly snowier. We will begin sledding during After School program. All children are required to have gloves, hat, coat, snow boots, and snow pants to participate. We also ask that you pack extra clothes and socks. We will continue to go outside until the weather is below 20 degrees. On days we can’t go outside, we will go to the gym instead for active time.

I would like to acknowledge Haley and Sydney for always being great helpers, respectful, and helping others when needed. They have made program clean-up run smoothly and do so without being asked. Regardless if they had an item or not, they are always the first to help put things away and ask if we need help with anything. I am grateful for Haley, Sydney, and all the others who help myself and Ms. Harjinder. I will continue to give away prizes to children every Friday after earning them throughout the week.
