Hello families,

We hope you’ve had a great start to the month! We wanted to share some highlights from our first few weeks in the After School program. But first we want to take a moment to introduce our team and share a bit about ourselves.

Allow me to introduce our team:

• Ms. Mai: Hi everyone! My name is Ms. Mai, and this is my second year with Wisconsin Youth Company. I’m excited to share fun activities, cooking recipes, and have a great time with the kids.

• Mrs. Aracely: Hello, my name is Mrs. Aracely, and this is my second year at Thoreau as the site supervisor. I’m thrilled to be here with you all. I am fortunate to have three wonderful children, Aura (16), Ian (14) and Dominic (7), and a husband who does construction. And I have a great love for Chinese food. My goal is to ensure that each child feels supported and motivated throughout their activities. I’m excited about what this year has in store for all of you and to make this After School year a fantastic and enriching experience.

• Elijah: Hi, my name is Elijah. This is my first year and I am excited about being part of After School and having an opportunity to give back to the kids. I hope to have a positive impact on them throughout the school year!

In these initial weeks, we’ve been getting to know each other better and enjoying time with all our friends. Now that our program has grown a bit, we’re excited to have more classmates to play with and share experiences.

September Highlights:

Outdoor play: We’ve been having a lot of fun playing outside! Gaga ball and kickball have become our favorite games. The kids are full of energy, and it’s wonderful to see them having a great time while developing teamwork skills.

New friends: With the arrival of new classmates, the atmosphere has become even more vibrant and enthusiastic. We love the time spent together and watching new friendships form.

Looking ahead to October:

We have exciting activities planned.

Cooking: The kids love getting involved in the kitchen! We have planned cooking activities that will let them experiment with new recipes and techniques, plus enjoy the delicious results.

Arts and crafts: Art and craft activities will also be a big part of our month. We’re preparing creative projects that will encourage artistic expression and imagination.

We’re excited about the adventures this month will bring and appreciate your continued support. If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to reach out to us.

Thank you for being part of our community!
