We are anticipating a wonderful program year at After School Van Hise and look forward to serving your family.

Hi Van Hise families!

I hope everyone has been enjoying the mixed weather. We’re all adapting to it at program and making the most out of the day each afternoon.

Some project highlights that kids loved doing this past month were DIY scratch art and puffy paint. It was awesome to see what their creative minds came up with; please check out the gallery for project photos. Our Monday community circle times have been going great; it has been a lot easier to make announcements, and the best part is that everyone can participate and have their voices heard.

What We Are Looking Forward To

March is here and hopefully an early spring will be upon us. I’m sure the kids would love to get outside more and enjoy the warm weather. I would love to incorporate outside projects like chalk paint crafts surrounding nature.

Grade Spotlight: 4th Grade

A lot of the fourth graders are returnees from last year and huge bookworms. I always see them reading and I love that they let me know what kind of books they are interested in. Some notable series the kids are interested in are the Raina and Harry Potter series. Their leadership skills have grown tremendously. They’re always able to bring groups together to play games, do projects, and engage in construct play. It has been awesome to get to know these kids!
