Please carefully review all tabs on this webpage prior to your first day of camp. COVID-19 health and safety protocols will be in place this summer to ensure campers and staff remain safe and healthy.

Theater Hours  |  Theater Immersion Camp takes place July 18-29, Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The final performance takes place on Friday, July 29. 

  • Drop-off takes place between 8-9 a.m. 
  • Pick-up takes place between 4-5 p.m.

All staff have education and/or experience related to working with children. They receive training prior to the start of the camp season and are certified in first aid and CPR.  

Health & Wellness at Immersion Camp 

Please monitor your camper(s) for possible COVID-19 or other illness symptoms at home prior to arriving at camp each day. If your camper has a fever greater than 100° F or COVID-19 symptoms, please keep your child(ren) home for the day and contact our administrative office regarding their absence.  

COVID-19 symptoms include:  

  • Fever or chills  
  • Cough, shortness of breath  
  • Loss of taste or smell  
  • Vomiting or diarrhea  
  • Sore throat  
  • Headache  
  • Unusual fatigue  
  • Muscle or body aches  
  • Runny nose or nasal congestion  

If you receive a positive COVID-19 test, please inform us right away at 608-276-9782 or info@wisconsinyouthcompany.org.

If your child is not vaccinated against COVID-19 and has been in close physical contact with anyone who tested positive with COVID-19, please contact us at 608-276-9782 or info@wisconsinyouthcompany.org to determine next steps.   

Upon arrival, directors will complete a visual wellness check before campers enter camp.  

Where to Park  |  Limited parking is available in the pull-in at Shorewood Hills Elementary, additional parking available along Shorewood Blvd. 

Drop-off Procedure  |  After entering the school building through the main entrance, camp staff will be waiting to walk you through the sign-in process. If you would like your child(ren) to arrive independently by walking or biking, please contact the administrative office to authorize Independent Arrival.  

Medications, Sunscreen and Insect Repellent  |  If your student has medications, sunscreen or insect repellent, please bring these on the first day of their attendance. All items should be labelled with first and last name. Wisconsin Youth Company does provide sunscreen and insect repellent. Campers are not required to bring their own. 

What to Bring 

Please only send your camper with following items. All items should be labeled with your camper’s first and last name: 

  • Sack nut-free lunch that does not need to be refrigerated or microwaved 
  • Gym shoes or sandals with a heel strap (no flip flops) 
  • Water bottle labeled with child’s first and last name
  • Extra set of clothing, as needed  
Picking Up Your Camper 

When to Pick-up  |  Campers should be picked up during the designated pick-up timeframe, Monday-Friday 4-5 p.m. If you need to pick up your camper(s) early, please coordinate that with the camp director in advance. 

Pick-up Procedure  |  After entering the school building, staff will be waiting to walk you through the sign-out process

Independent Departure  |  If you would like your child(ren) to walk home independently or meet you at your vehicle, please contact the administrative office to authorize Independent Departure. Students cannot meet you at your vehicle unless they have prior authorization. 

Authorized Pick-up Person  |  Only authorized pick-up people can pick up your child(ren). If you would like to add an additional authorized pick-up person, please email info@wisconsinyouthcompany.org. All authorized pick-up people are encouraged to have a photo ID on them. With the safety of students in mind, staff will check IDs if they have not met a pick-up person or do not recognize a pick-up person. 

Absences 

Please call the 24-hour attendance message line, 608-276-9898, if your student will be absent. Please call before 8:30 a.m. if the message pertains to that day.

Face Coverings at Camp 
  • Under MMSD guidelines, face coverings are not required at camp, but are highly recommended. Campers wishing to wear a mask will be supported in doing so.
  • Face coverings are not required on transportation or outdoors
Snack & Lunch 

It’s important campers start each day with a good breakfast prior to Theater Immersion, and bring a nutritious and satisfying lunch.
Sack lunches must not require refrigeration or microwaving; milk is provided. A morning and afternoon snack will be provided. Some students have life-threatening allergies (like a peanut or tree nut allergy). For this reason, WYC requests that students bring a nut-free lunch. All snacks served at Theater Immersion are nut-free. 

  • Students will have a lunch period daily to eat lunch and relax
  • All students must wash hands with soap and water before and after eating 
Keeping Camp Clean 

We understand that the need to keep camp clean is more important now than ever before. Because of this, we are implementing the following practices: 

  • Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout theater camp and outdoors. Hand sanitizer will be used under the direction of theater staff. 
  • Campers and staff will be required to wash hands often and thoroughly 
  • Staff will be cleaning and disinfecting program materials on a regular basis
  • Facility staff will clean high traffic areas within the building including bathrooms 
  • All disinfecting will happen in a room that is not accessible to campers. Disinfecting of group spaces will only happen when campers are not present 
  • For cleaning, staff will use a detergent/soap and water solution 
  • For disinfecting, staff will use an EPA-approved product to use against coronavirus 
Spending Time Outdoors 

Staff will be encouraged to take the group outdoors as much as possible. Campers will have water, sunscreen and shade available to them while outdoors. Please send your child(ren) dressed for the outdoors, every day.

Parent Contact Information 

It is important that Parents can easily be reached throughout the camp day. Please verify your contact information in your parent portal and contact the administrative office if changes need to be made. 

In the event that staff contact you requesting that your child be picked up for illness or other reasons, we ask that you do so immediately. If you are unable to pick up your camper immediately, please arrange for emergency pick-up individuals. These individuals must be listed as authorized pick-up persons on your account. 

Changing Account Information 

Written notification is required to make any changes to your account information (i.e. phone numbers, pick-up persons, emergency contacts, etc.). An email from the email address on-file is sufficient. Your account password is required to make changes.

Q: Who can drop off and pick up campers? 

A: Following Wisconsin Youth Company policy, campers may only be dropped off and picked up from camp by authorized pick-up person(s) listed on their registration. 

Q: Will campers and staff be required to wear a mask? 

A: Masks are not required at camp but campers wishing to wear a mask will be supported in doing so.

Q: What happens if my child gets sick while at camp? 

A: Theater Immersion has a designated space available to use in the event that a camper gets sick. If your camper becomes ill at Theater Immersion, they will be isolated in this room with a staff. Staff will call for immediate pick-up. Please ensure that your camper is picked up as soon as possible. 

Q: What happens if there is a confirmed COVID-19 case at Theater Immersion? 

A: In the event of a confirmed COVID-19 case at Theater Immersion (student or staff), Wisconsin Youth Company will follow local public health guidance as it pertains to contact tracing. Families will be notified as soon as possible if their camper is considered a close contact. If your child is a close contact, they may be asked to quarantine from Theater Immersion.  

Q: What should I do if my child has a confirmed case of COVID-19?
