Rest Time

Each day, there will be a 30-minute rest time for children. Wisconsin Youth Company will provide a padded mat, sheet, and blanket at nap time. These items will be washed at the end of each week by neighborhood center staff.

Under DCF state licensing, children are required to have a blanket at nap time. You may also send your own blanket, sheet, a small pillow, or stuffed animal. All items will be kept in a tote at program and sent home for parents to wash and return at the end of the week. If parents choose to send their own items, it’s important that parents send the items back with their child on the following Monday.

During rest time, the lights will be turned off, and quiet music will be played. Children who do not choose to sleep may be given permission to play with small manipulatives near their mat.
