Wisconsin Youth Company’s Kelsey Flood Recognized for Outstanding Youth Worker Award
Industry and peers recognize nine youth workers for supporting Madison youth
Madison, Wisconsin (Wednesday, September 2, 2026) — Wisconsin Youth Company’s Kelsey Flood was honored with a 2026 Outstanding Youth Worker Award by Madison-area Out-of-School Time initiative. Recognized for her dedication and creativity in supporting youth, Flood was celebrated alongside nine other award winners at the MOST Conference Wednesday, August 26.
Award winners were nominated by their peers, with a panel of former MOST Award honorees making the final selections. In addition to the accolades, MOST recognized their contributions with a $500 award.
“I was very excited to hear that I won this award,” said Flood. “It makes me feel like my dedication and efforts over the past years have truly been recognized and appreciated. I am motivated to continue to work hard and keep improving. I feel so lucky to have met so many amazing children and look forward to what the future brings,” Flood said upon receiving recognition.
Flood was nominated for her ability to create a supportive and empowering environment for young students. Her peers chose to highlight her positive influence that surpasses daily expectations: “Kelsey also excels at building strong, trusting relationships with families. She understands that meaningful progress happens when families and staff work together, and she takes time to communicate openly, listen with empathy, and ensure families feel respected and included throughout the process.” A mother of two, Flood knows firsthand the role collaborative community plays when it comes to success beyond the school day.
Flood has been an outstanding member of the Wisconsin Youth Company team for 13 years. She began as a site supervisor in 2013 and is the current After School program supervisor at Prairie Elementary in Waunakee, WI.
