Wisconsin Youth Company’s Taylor Zimmerman honored with Outstanding Youth Worker Award
Recognition celebrates leadership, inclusivity, dedication to serving Madison youth

Madison, Wisconsin (Friday, September 5, 2025) — Wisconsin Youth Company is proud to share that Taylor Zimmerman, program supervisor, was honored as one of the 2025 Outstanding Youth Workers by Madison-area Out-of-School Time initiative. Zimmerman was joined by seven other award winners who were celebrated at the annual MOST conference in August.

The award winners were nominated by their peers, with past MOST honorees choosing the final recipients. Madison Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway and Madison Metropolitan School District Superintendent Dr. Joe Gothard presented honorees with the award at the conference.

“I am thankful and appreciative to receive the MOST Award this year. Receiving this award excites and motivates me toward striving to provide more after school opportunities and create stronger connections into the upcoming school year,” Zimmerman says.

In the nomination, her peers chose her in part for the relationships she has developed during her time leading the After School program at Franklin Elementary. “Her strong relationship-building skills have promoted rapport between her and Franklin school staff, developing deep bonds and bridging the gap between after school and school faculty. She’s promoted community and inclusivity by inviting families into the program as she facilitates and leads a family event each month. Taylor has gone above and beyond to connect with her families and children,” shared in her nomination.

After receiving the recognition, Zimmerman adds that continuing to work with youth and families at Franklin Elementary brings joy and fun. “I enjoy the ability to go into programming each day and make stronger relationships with new and returning children through play and lesson plan activities. I look forward to what the year has to offer and cannot wait for monthly family nights to return,” she adds.

Zimmerman joined Wisconsin Youth Company in 2020 as group leader. She moved from group leader to site supervisor leading the After School program at Franklin Elementary in January 2021. Zimmerman was promoted to program supervisor in 2022.
