Back to school season is an exciting time, but for many families in our community this season also brings the stress that can come with having to spend money on supplies for the upcoming school year. On average nationally, families will spend about $600 on school supplies per student.

Theresa Terrace Neighborhood Center, operated by Wisconsin Youth Company, is hosting its 4th annual Back2School Supply Drive to help families and make sure students start the school year with the tools they need.

This year, the goal is to fill 300 backpacks with essential school supplies. To meet the need in the community, Theresa Terrace Neighborhood Center is growing the supply drive to serve both elementary and middle school students with a backpack and supplies.

How can you help?

-Drop off new school supplies at one of six donation stations around Madison. Check out the shopping list drop-off locations here. Donations can be dropped off between now and August 14, 2023.

-Shop online on the wish list and ship any school supplies directly to Wisconsin Youth Company!

-Make a monetary donation and neighborhood center staff will shop to purchase additional items and fill in the gaps.
