The group leader supervises and engages with children in grades K-5 during indoor and outdoor play at After School. The group leader is responsible for guiding their group of children and supporting the site supervisor in the program by helping with daily tasks such as snack and activity preparation. This position is responsible for fostering positive relationships with children and families while working closely with community partners and co-workers on projects and events that serve the neighborhood and its families.

The float program supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of an After School program and summer day camp. Locations may vary throughout the year. This individual will be responsible for filling in vacant After School and summer day camp positions. Responsibilities include lesson planning for children in grades K-5, managing staff, purchasing program materials, managing a monthly budget, and ensuring program quality standards are met.

Q: What documents do I need to submit with my application?

A: Resume, high school diploma or unofficial college transcripts, and a minimum of two references.

Q: Why do I need to submit my transcripts or diploma?

A: All of our staff are required to have completed high school and be at least 18 years old. We verify completion of high school with diploma or transcripts.

Q: How long will it take before I hear from Wisconsin Youth Company after I submit my application?

A: We try to respond to applicants within 1-2 business days. If you are applying for a year-round position, the response time is longer and may take 1-2 weeks.

Q: Can I use personal friends or family members as my references?

A: Please provide a minimum of two professional references, one of which is a former supervisor or manager.

Q: Do you need references to get a job offer?

A: Yes, we require all our applicants to have two professional references completed, one being a previous manager or supervisor. If this is your first professional job and you do not have a previous supervisor, please make note of this on your application.

Q: How long should I expect to wait to hear back about next steps or if I received the job I interviewed for?

A: Typically, we will let you know if you are offered the position within 1-2 weeks after your interview. If you are applying for a year-round position, response time is longer and may take 2-4 weeks.

Q: I interviewed for a job more than two weeks ago and haven’t heard back yet. What should I do?

A: Please send an email to hiringcommittee@wisconsinyouthcompany.org and we will get back to you in 1-2 business days.

Q: Will you let me know even if I am not offered the job?

A: Yes, we send all applicants communication, even if they are not selected for the job they applied or interviewed for.

Q: Are your interviews in-person or virtual?

A: We interview our candidates over Zoom through some positions may require a second interview that can either be done over Zoom or in-person depending on the position.
