Wisconsin Youth Company welcomed David Petty and Erika Freeman to its Board of Directors at the end of 2021.

As the governing body of a nonprofit, it is essential to find board members who care about the mission and vision of an organization. David’s personal experience with Wisconsin Youth Company’s programs, his easy smile, and thoughtful consideration of issues affecting children and families today make him a great fit.

Erika Freeman’s professional experience with educational systems and school buildings lend unique insight into how and where we care for children outside of school hours. We are lucky to have her dedication and enthusiasm for Policy Governance.

David Petty is currently an information technology team leader at QBE Insurance. David leads a team of engineers in the North America and European regions, managing the remote computer environment for thousands of internal employees.

David is passionate about serving and educating students in our community. He understands the value of high-quality childcare like WYC because his two sons are beneficiaries of its service in the Waunakee Community School District. David’s an avid traveler and enjoys domestic and international travel with his wife of 23 years and two sons. As a hobby, he spends his free time doing photography and videography.

Bringing nearly 20 years of industry experience and a diverse background in marketing, strategic communications, public relations, and business development, Erika provides leadership to support Findorff’s business goals. She currently works with educational institutions on community engagement and facility planning.

Erika’s work developing communication outreach strategies is prominent during pre-referendum processes, and throughout the project as a point of contact for the client and architects. These efforts involve thorough development of communication planning, engagement strategies, and branding. The services Erika provides are invaluable to school districts across Wisconsin. Her work has led to multiple awards from the Wisconsin School Public Relations Association for materials produced for various Wisconsin school districts.

Erika is also involved in many community organizations where she plays a vital role as a board member, volunteer, and/or member.
