Elver Park Neighborhood Center Selected as Excellence in Education Grant Recipient
Rotary Club grant funding will allow center to double program capacity

Madison, Wisconsin (Wednesday, November 15, 2023) — Elver Park Neighborhood Center, operated by Wisconsin Youth Company, was selected by the Rotary Club of Madison as one of five recipients of its Excellence in Education grant. This grant recognizes local nonprofits that support children regardless of background.

“Elver Park Neighborhood Center’s after school program provides a safe place for children to thrive outside of school hours. It is our goal, for each child who enters our center, to discover and build upon their interests, skills, and dreams. With help from the Rotary Club, we can extend our reach even further,” says Jennifer Weber, director of neighborhood centers, Wisconsin Youth Company.

The Excellence in Education grant will allow EPNC to double capacity in its elementary after school and summer camp programs over the next year. The funding is also critical in keeping the cost of programs affordable to families. In 2022, 92 percent of the families served by EPNC qualified as low-income.

The neighborhood center works closely with school staff in the Madison Metropolitan and Middleton-Cross Plains school districts in addition to community resources like UW Discovery Institute, Madison Reading Project, and FreeBike4Kids. These partnerships ensure families and children are supported outside the school day.
