Lights On Afterschool Celebrated at State Capitol
After school organizations gather for parade to shine a light on the importance of after school

Madison, Wisconsin (Thursday, October 20, 2022) — Wisconsin Youth Company, Madison Out-Of-School Time, and other out-of-school time providers gathered for a parade around the Wisconsin State Capitol for Lights On Afterschool, a nationwide day of celebration created by the Afterschool Alliance to highlight after school programs. Madison Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway said a few words before the parade about the importance of these programs and the staff who perform this work, and declared October 20, 2022 Lights On Afterschool Day.

The parade started at the Forward Statue at the top of State Street and ended at the Madison Public Library-Central Branch for networking, coffee, and cookies.
